Hey everyone, so I'm back at it again - starting a new blog from the ground up. Back in 2014, when I found out I had Stage III #breastcancer, I began writing to help myself make sense of everything and to stay organized. Let me tell you, there was a ton to keep track of!
So you might've noticed that I turned that blog into a book called "Cancer & Other Things I'm Grateful For." It came out in June 2023 and has been getting awesome reviews. A lot of people who've been through cancer treatment told me they wish they had my book when they were going through it. In the book, I share what I've learned, stress the importance of self advocacy during illness, and talk about how a mix of Western and Eastern medicine really helped me during and after my diagnosis. I also touch on #gratitude, the #mindbodyconnection, and self-reflection. Pretty cool stuff!

But guess what? That's not the whole enchilada! In the nearly nine years since my diagnosis, I have been constantly surprised by the vast universe of information to learn about managing a serious illness.
I'm pretty sure that if we all had what feels like the inside scoop, we'd be healthier, live better, and suffer less. But getting all this information is no walk in the park - you won't find it all in one place, from just one doctor, or in a single book. And traditional medicine doesn't even acknowledge some of it, let alone support sharing it. Honestly, many doctors are clueless about "it." It's kind of sad, really.
Doctors are pretty awesome at saving lives, right? But let's be real, the power to take care of ourselves is in our hands. I'm totally down to share some of the cool stuff I've learned to help you out. Let's work together to take control of our health, well-being, and lives. Let's go #beyondsurviving!
If you haven't checked out my book yet, you can grab it on Amazon in paperback, hardcover, eBook, and audio format. It's a good way to dive into my story and understand where I'm coming from. Plus it's an easy read that's not too technical.
My game plan is to write a post per week. When life gets busy, it may be less (or more! I might want a break from all the stuff!), but I'll play that by ear. Make sure to follow me so you never miss a beat!
