🌄 When Vacation Becomes a Life Audit

ree

I just wrapped up back-to-back getaways: a girls’ trip with my daughter to sunny, peach-filled Palisade, Colorado 🍑, followed immediately by an RV adventure with my husband to the jaw-droppingly gorgeous Flathead Lake in Montana 🏞️. Let’s just say... I’m still unpacking, both literally and mentally.

🤔 Is It Just Me, or Does Vacation = Existential Clarity?

Every time I step away from daily life — especially into nature — I find myself thinking big thoughts. Not just “Should we grow tomatoes next summer?” but more like:

  • Are we living how we really want to live?

  • Could we reasonably (responsibly?) have two homes someday?

  • Could we travel around the country in our RV and Work From Camper™ (same Wi-Fi, better view)

  • Where do we actually want to retire?

  • And the big one: Are we living the life we want now, or are we saving it all for some magical future chapter that may or may not look the way we think it will?

🏔️ I Want the Peaks and the Purpose

I don’t want to wait until I’m 70 to wake up to a lake view, sip coffee in hiking pants, and feel unhurried. I want a life that blends meaningful work, weekend escapes, spontaneous joy, and the sense that we’re living with intention right now.

Basically: I want the peaks and the purpose — adventure and meaning, freedom and forward motion. (And if anyone has cracked that code, I’m all ears.)

💬 Do You Feel This Too?

Does vacation spark something in you? Do you come back feeling energized, full of ideas, maybe even a little restless in the best possible way? Does stepping away give you clarity on what matters most — and what might need to shift?

If you’re asking these same questions, I’d love to hear what your “post-vacation epiphanies” look like. I'd love to know how you live a little more like it’s vacation... even when it’s not.

📸 P.S. I Tried to Pick Just a Few Photos...

You’ll find some photos from both trips below — but let’s be honest, narrowing them down felt like a personal attack. 😅 Between the peaches, mountain views, lake sunsets, wildlife, and RV life highlights, I couldn’t help myself. So while I tried to limit them... let’s just say I did my best. Enjoy the scroll. 💛
